Giuseppe Spagnolo. Self-taught landscape painter and portraitist. He was born on October 2, 1948, in Grotteria, Reggio Calabria, Italy. In his childhood he moved to Genoa, Italy. When he was young he started with drawings and participated in contests, winning several awards. With this passion, he frequented the artistic environment of Genoa, where he completed his education as artist. He spent those years very involved with art and he was invited to participate to numerous art competitions: collective and fast painting, exhibitions, etc. In the 70s, he met famous artists who proposed him to continue to subsequent exhibitions. During those years he gained recognitions at a national level. His works are part of public and private collections. He is included in dictionaries of Modern Art, published in Italian newspapers and member of the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts of Genoa as academic promoter, and of other academies: Gentium Pro Pace Academy (Rome), Academy of Sciences and Arts (California) and Studio Academy of Liguria (Interamericans of the Republic of Argentina), UNESCO. He currently lives and operates in Barcelona, Spain.
